DIPTYQUE LOGO HISTORY
The oval logo is deeply rooted in diptyque’s story. The thread of inspiration runs from ancient Rome to the fabric designs created during the early days of the diptyque adventure.
One of the first diptyque fabric designs was inspired by the elongated shield of a Pretorian Guard. Far from being warriors, the founders were simply fans of ancient culture and converted the shield into a clever vignette.
One of the founder: Desmond Knox-Leet spearheaded the merry upheaval of the letters on the label. Her Majesty’s subject helped decode the enemy’s messages during the Second World War and his knack for encrypted messages and enigmas never wore off. For diptyque, he invented these joyful letters that the eye figures out with delight.
