BATH MAKE-OVER

Shawn and Jalen Hill live in Cannon Beach, Ore., with their two golden retrievers, Waffles and Noodles. For the past 20 years, they’ve lived in a Portland suburb and decided it was time to fulfill their dream of relocating to a beach house. The time is right, since they are both semi-retired, and can work remotely when necessary.

The single bathroom upstairs functions fine, but desperately needs an update. Since this is only a guest bath, Shawn and Jalen do not need as much storage as the space currently provides. They prefer a separate soaking tub so they can bathe the dogs and have a space for the extended families kids when sleeping over as well as freestanding shower. Since they have a steady stream of overnight guests, they recently updated the full bathroom on the main floor that can accommodate visitors of all ages which is why they are open to having a creative twist in this upstairs bath.
